Drake comes in defending The Weeknd after Grammys’ nomination controversy

Canadian rapper and songwriter Drake came out in support of The Weeknd, after that he was dishonored, given zero nomination in the 2021 Grammy awards.

The Laugh Now Cry Later singer posted a lengthy message in support of the artist as he was surprisingly snubbed by the awards nominations, after giving a mega-hit album this year After Hours.

In his Instagram Story on Wednesday, One Dance singer wrote, "I think we should stop allowing ourselves to be shocked every year by the disconnect between impactful music and these awards and just accept that what once was the highest form of recognition may no longer matter to the artists that exist now and the ones that come after."

Drake, 34, continued, "It's like a relative you keep expecting to fix up but they just can't change their ways. The other day I said theweeknd was a lock for either album or song of the year along with countless other reasonable assumptions and it just never goes that way."

The Find Your Love artistconcluded his message, "this is a great time for somebody to start something new that we can build up over time and pass on to the generations to come."

Drake’s reaction came out after The Weeknd’s tweet, claiming that The Recording Academy is corrupt following his striking absence from the 2021 Grammy nominations that were announced on Tuesday.
