Sarah Hyland recalls painful body shaming instances: ‘they called my breasts 'mosquito bites’’

Despite winning Hollywood acclaim for her role as Haley Dunphy in Modern Family, Sarah Hyland claims she was subjected to the same amount of body shaming hate speech as any other teenager in her shoes.

The child star shared her qualms on bullying and body shaming on the YouTube series Lady Parts and was rather candid about the subject in front of host Kym Douglas.

The Modern Family actress began by saying, "I first started to develop breasts in the eighth grade. I don't know if you could really call them breasts, a lot of people called them 'mosquito bites.'"

Because her chest was not filling out the same way it did for her peers Sarah admitted she was forced to resort to other measures when trying to ‘fill out.’ "I was late for some reason with my classmates” and so “I stuffed my bra."

Despite the host’s efforts regarding making Sarah feel better about her body, the star admitted that she has now come to terms with her chest size. However, the "grass is always greener” on the other side, and despite not wanting “massive boobs,” she’d always appreciate a “bit more.”
