Mother-of-two, Jada Smith was always stricter with her daughter Willow, as compared to son Jaden, because she believed black women need to ‘work harder’ to get by in the world, and in essence need to be raised on a diet of 'tough love.'

The revelation was brought forward by Willow herself during one of their latest Red Table Talk episodes on Facebook watch. The young singer was even quoted telling the audience, "There is a difference between how Black moms will treat their daughters and their sons.”

Using her time in school as an example Willow explained how her mother would be harsher on her when asking if she was ready for school, but would talk softly to her brother.

Jada was also quick to come to her own defense during the show and even admitted, "For me, I knew that she's gonna have it twice as hard. I needed you to be strong because I know what this world is like for us as Black women."

Pinkett concluded her point by admitting, "My fear for having a Black daughter and what I felt like she needed to be in this world put me in a position to be a little harder on her."
