Martin Scorsese's directorial, Killers of the Flower Moon stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro

Killers of the Flower Moon's release date is delayed

Killers of the Flower Moon is setting up for a global release in lieu of a previously announced limited theatrical debut.

The Marin Scorsese directorial will now be released globally on Oct. 20, 14 days after its original release date. An Imax run is also anticipated for the upcoming blockbuster.

The announcement was also accompanied by a brand-new poster.

Based on a bestselling book by David Grann, the film is led by a stellar ensemble cast, including, Robert De Niro, Lily Gladstone, Leonardo DiCaprio, Cara Jade Myers, Jillian Dion, Jesse Plemons, and more.

Killers of the Flower Moon is set in the ‘20s Oklahoma, chronicling the serial murder of members of the oil-wealthy Osage Nation, a string of brutal crimes that came to be known as the Reign of Terror, according to Deadline.

It first debuted at the Cannes Film Festival in May, where it earned a nine-minute standing ovation.

Raving about the film, The Hollywood Reporter wrote in its review of the flick: “The three-and-a-half-hour running time is fully justified in an escalating tragedy that never loosens its grip — a sordid illustration of historical erasure with echoes in today’s bitterly divisive political gamesmanship.”
