Selena Gomez revealed she went under the knife in response to a fan predicting Single Soon debut at the Billboard Hot 100
Selena Gomez revealed she only recently had surgery after breaking her hand in the wake of the release of her latest single.
The Rare Beauty mogul took to Instagram to respond to a ranking chart, updating Gomez’s single, Single Soon, which she released Friday, Aug. 25, was eyeing to enter the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100 Charts.
“Broke my hand and had surgery,” the singer wrote in the comments. “I don’t care about selling anything. I’m just happy to make music with my friends.”
A rep for Selena refused to further expand on the details of the surgery.
The It Ain’t Me singer released the breakup anthem last week for her eager fandom, desperately waiting for her to finish her third studio album.
“Since I’m not quite done with SG3, I wanted to put out a fun little song I wrote a while back that’s perfect for the end of summer,” the Disney alum wrote on social media, announcing the single.
Gomez also shut down rumors that the song was aimed at one of her ex-boyfriends The Weeknd, replying to an Instagram post by Hollywood Life.
“couldn’t be more false,” she wrote.
The speculation arose in the wake of a lyric mentioning “the weekend” following a line possibly referencing the singer’s song Save Your Tears.
“Should I do it on the phone? / Should I leave a little note / In the pocket of his coat?” she sings in the song’s first verse. “Maybe I’ll just disappear / I don’t wanna see a tear / And the weekend’s almost here.”
