Ryan Gosling dreamt about having a family with Eva Mendes after meeting on a film set in 2012
Ryan Gosling is walking on air with his family of four.
The 42-year-old actor, who shares two kids with his long-term partner Eva Mendes, is set to make his big comeback in Greta Gerwig’s upcoming film, Barbie, following a brief hiatus to spend time with his family.
Speaking to GQ’s Global Summer, the Blade Runner actor revealed that he “wanted to spend as much time as I could,” with his daughters, Esmeralda Amada, 8, Amada Lee, 6, and Mendes.
He admitted to the outlet that he didn’t think about having kids until he met Mendes while filming The Place Beyond The Pines in 2012.
“I wasn’t thinking about kids before I met her, but after I met Eva, I realized that I just didn’t want to have kids without her,” the actor recalled.
“And there were moments on The Place Beyond the Pines where we were pretending to be a family, and I didn’t really want it to be pretend anymore. I realised that this would be a life I would be really lucky to have,” he gushed.
Elsewhere in the interview, Gosling responded to the criticism of his casting as Ken opposite Margot Robbie’s Barbie in Gerwig directorial, saying, “I would say, you know, if people don’t want to play with my Ken, there are many other Kens to play with.”
