Brian Cox claimed that he was killed off too early in the season finale and might even be alive
Brian Cox is not satisfied with his character arc in the hit TV show Succession.
In a preview of an upcoming interview with Amol Rajan Interviews, the 76-year-old actor reflected on the creators’ decision to kill off his patriarch character at the beginning of the ongoing final season of the show.
It was “ultimately too early,” the Scottish actor claimed, noting that he’d found it more appropriate if the writers kept him for a few more episodes.
“I was fine with it ultimately, but I did feel a little bit rejected,” he said. “You know, I felt a little bit like all the work I’ve done and finally I’m going to, you know, end up as an ear on a carpet of a plane.”
In the interview set to air tonight on BBC Two, the Shakespearean actor heralded himself for managing to keep the details of his character’s death hidden for so long, providing the perfect amount of shock value to the viewers.
The actor filmed the funeral scene of Logan Ray from the third episode over a year and a half ago, noting that the showrunners were planning to film some false scenes of the character being at the funeral so that paparazzi wouldn’t suspect his death.
Despite the season approaching its finale episode in a few days, Cox dished on the possibility of Ray still being alive.
“If you think about it, from Logan’s point of view, he has to find out, how are his children going to behave when he dies, what will then happen? And the only way to do that is to fake his death and actually, at some distant point he’s observing the chaos that is following,” he teased.
