LL Cool J is set to pick up the gun again.

Real name James Todd Smith, the 55-year-old actor is confirmed to reprise his role in Season 3 of NCIS: Hawai’i as a recurring guest star.

The actor, who plays Sam Hanna, a senior NCIS Special Agent first appeared in the Season 2 finale of the crime epic, which came as a surprise for viewers.

In the episode, Jane Tennant, played by Vanessa Lachey, and Kate Whistler, played by Tori Anderson seek help from Hanna while they were attacked under fire in Venezuela.

Executive producers Matt Bosack, Christopher Silber, and Jan Nash expressed their excitement over the return of the multi-hyphenate star in the series, saying: “All of us at NCIS: Hawai’i have been huge fans of LL Cool J for years and couldn’t be more thrilled or honored to be adding his spectacular talent to our ohana for season three.”

“One of the most beautiful things about working on NCIS: Hawai’i is the show’s ability to bring the franchise together. We have had so much fun spreading the aloha to NCIS and NCIS: LA with the triple crossover,” gushed Lachey.

“Now, we have the amazing opportunity to bring Sam Hanna to Hawai’i to help the island solve some cases and maybe have a few laughs in the process. Welcome to the ohana, Todd! It’s going to be a fun ride!” she added.
