Ben Affleck not really as happy as his Batman performance
Ben Affleck claims that The Flash, the upcoming film from DC Studios, is the first time he has "nailed it" since making his on-screen debut as Batman almost seven years ago.
The actor briefly mentioned his role in the upcoming Ezra Miller-led superhero movie during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter for a cover story about the 50-year-old Affleck's upcoming movie Air, his new production company, and his relationship with the public.
"Yeah, I did finally figure out how to play that character, and I nailed it in The Flash. For the five minutes I'm there, it's really great," Affleck stated on his anticipated final appearance as Gotham's dark knight in the upcoming film.
Affleck told the publication that "a lot of it's just tone" when it came to finding out how to play his character in The Flash, after previously complaining about his time as Bruce Wayne/Batman in 2017's Justice League.
"You've got to figure out, what's your version of the person? Who is the guy that fits what you can do? I tried to fit myself into a Batman," he said, noting that he did "like a lot of the stuff we did" with the character, especially in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
When queried what specifically went wrong on the Justice League set, where Zack Snyder quit the project following the death of his daughter and was replaced by Joss Whedon, who some cast members accused of toxic on-set conduct, Affleck responded: "You could teach a seminar on all the reasons why this is how not to do it."
