Johnny Depp's star lawyers Ben Chew and Camille Vasquez bagged multiple awards at the Benchmark Litigation Annual Awards Gala for their excellent representative of the Hollywood star in his defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard.

Both lawyers were honoured with the Impact Case Award and Chew was additionally crowned Entertainment Litigator of the Year.

Brown Rudnick was shortlisted for Bankruptcy Practice of the Year with Partner David Molton nominated for Bankruptcy Litigator of the Year.

The ceremony was held on March 15 in New York City and as per Benchmark Litigation the awards "recognize the country’s most distinguished litigators and their firms for their exemplary work over the past twelve months."

Back in June, Depp was overwhelmingly favoured by a Virginia jury, after a trial spanning to six grueling weeks, which awarded him $15million in damages while Heard was awarded $2million.

Both sides had initially appealed to parts of the decision but later settled their case in December.

During the trial, Crew and Vasquez, who co-led the large team of lawyers, that included partners Wayne Dennison, Rebecca MacDowell Lecaroz, Jessica Meyers and Andrew Crawford and associates Stephanie Calnan and Samuel Moniz, representing Depp, emerged as internet sensations as their quick-witted cross questioning and ability to ensnare Heard, in her own faulty statements, got the world’s attention.

Following Depp’s landslide victory, Vasquez was promoted to partner and later in September the star lawyers were elevated to co-chairs of their Firm’s Brand & Reputation Management group.
