Glendale is now called 'Swift City' in honour of Taylor Swift

Glendale honours Taylor Swift's tour with a new ceremonial name

In a fearless decision on Monday, Glendale Mayor Jerry P.Weiers announced that the city would have a ceremonial name for the week to celebrate Taylor Swift's performance marking her Eras tour.

The Taylor Swift concert has been grabbing eyeballs for months now as Swifties are gearing up ready for the major event.

No one loves Taylor like Glendale or should we say Swift City.

Fans in the city suggested names like Swiftdale, Taylordale, The City of Taylor Swift, Taylor Nation and so many more but Swift City was chosen as the final.

Glendale's entertainment district will be set with all kinds of shops and events for the big concert.

The Midnights singer will be kicking off her Eras tour with two nights in Glendale before heading to 19 other cities, so get ready to party like it's 1989.

The City of Glendale (now technically Swift City) said it wanted to do something highly unusual to rejoice in Taylor's decision to launch her tour in Arizona and so here it is.

However, the name change will be in effect through March 18 and the pop star will ace it at State Farm Stadium Friday, March 17 and Saturday and fans cannot just wait to shake it off to her tunes.

As for the mayor he'll be 'Mayor Swiftie' for the upcoming event.
