Queen consort Camilla is confirmed to wear a recycled crown that does not include the highly-controversial Koh-i-Noor diamond ahead of the coronation.

In an announcement by Buckingham Palace, it revealed that Camilla will be given a different version of the crown Queen Mary wore for the 1911 coronation made by Garrard.

The crown will be set with diamonds namely the Cullinan III, IV and V as part of remembering the late Queen Elizabeth II as they were part of her personal jewelry collection which she was usually seen wearing as brooches.

Subsequently the announcement confirms that the crown will not be featuring the Koh-i-Noor diamond due the controversial circumstances it came into possession.

For the unversed, the Koh-i-Noor diamond was wrongfully taken by the East India Company and was given to Queen Victoria, later featuring on the crown of queen mother in 1937.

The coronation of King Charles III will be staged on Saturday 6 May 2023.
