The Witcher stars are not happy with Henry Cavill leaving.

Henry Cavill's shocking departure from the Netflix series has prompted a response from The Witcher star Joey Batey, who called it "sad."

In accordance with the announcement made by the Man of Steel actor, Liam Hemsworth will take over as Geralt of Rivia starting with the fourth season.

Many people were shocked by the news, but Batey, who plays the bard Jaskier, claimed to be aware of the actor's choice even before it became public.

“[Cavill’s departure is] sad. Henry and I are quite close,” Batey told Digital Spy. “I knew a little bit before everyone else, really. But to be honest, the whole cast is just going: ‘We’re all going to miss him.’

“He’s worked so hard, and particularly on season three. We just wrapped [filming] on season three a couple of months ago. And the man is the hardest-working man in all of Hollywood,” he added.

Cavill said in a statement following his departure that he had fun working on the fantasy series and wished his successor luck.
