John Krasinski’s honest confession about his daughters’ perception on Stephen Colbert Show
John Krasinski has recently revealed his daughters do not buy that he’s the one in the hit series The Office.
During the latest episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the Jack Ryan actor recalled how his eight-year-old and six-year-old daughters thought he was lying about playing the role in the long-running comedy series.
John shared that his daughters believe that he works in some “actual office” and not an actor.
The reason I think that is because I was walking them to school one day, and this guy came up, and he was very nice, he went, 'John! From The Office!’” said the stranger.
“I went 'Yeah,' and he said, 'Oh my God, it's so good to see you,' and I said, 'Thanks' and he kept walking,” recalled John.
Following this interaction, John’s daughter thought that the guy who admired his acting in the series was actually his “co-worker” at a “non-existent” office.
John showed a few episodes to his daughters to prove that he’s not lying and he was “just playing a character” in the series.
However, his daughters, who watched two episodes, stated, “That’s not you. Guy looks a lot like you, though.”
John told Stephen, “Because they don't know what I do, they think I work as an accountant in a real office.”
The actor pointed out that his children know what his wife Emily Blunt does for a living as they watched her in Mary Poppins.
“I think that my kids thought that Emily had married me out of charity. They're like, 'you're so nice to marry an accountant. That's so nice of you,’” quipped John.
