Kid Rock firmly believes that there are going to be many people who will speak against the demolition of Hank Williams's home
Musician Kid Rock expressed his frustration over the potential demolition of Hank Williams's antebellum home located in Tennessee.
The Beechwood Hall, co-owned by country music stars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill alongside Williams, was built in the 1850s and is credited for surviving the Civil War.
Last year, the 268-acre estate was bought by a fund manager Larry Keele.
Since the purchase, the residents of Williamson County have voiced their fear of its demolition.
Speaking to Tucker Carlson on the Tuesday episode of his show, Rock said that he is “sick of seeing history torn to the ground.”
“Whether it be in the form of monuments, statues and now something so important here in Nashville… where does it end?” he questioned.
Keele, however, assured everyone: “no historical items have been placed in any burn pile and there is no scheduled demolition.”
He also noted that besides the minimal renovation, the soul of the antique home will stay intact.
To save it from future demolition, Kid Rock believes that “there’s going to be many, many people [who] will get on board” and speak out against it.
He also directed the concerned individuals to savebeechwood.org – a website launched to stop any future demolition of the historical home – and said, “I think you will see a lot more country music stars, musicians, just great people in the community that want to preserve this for the next generation to come. Generations beyond that.”
