Oprah Winfrey's new documentary highlights Sidney Poitier's amazing journey on social media

Oprah Winfrey has recently shared a glimpse of Sidney Poitier's documentary on social media.

On Friday, Oprah took to Instagram and posted a powerful teaser of the documentary about the life and legacy of iconic actor who left a great impact on the Black community and Hollywood.

The video began with prolific actors such as Denzel Washington and Morgan Freeman who shared their thoughts about A Raisin in the Sun star in a non-fictional movie.

Captioning the post, the 68-year-old wrote, “Sidney Poitier paved the way for some of the most iconic voices of our time. Hear from Oprah, MorganFreeman, HalleBerry and more in.”

Moreover, former President Barack Obama also spoke about the actor, "Poitier once called his driving purpose to make himself a better person and he made us all a little bit better along the way.”

The promo ended with Oprah’s words about Sidney.

“Biggest box office draw, Black man, 1967, 68', and the whole country is spiralling around him,” she remarked.

For the unversed, the legend made history as the first Black to win Oscars in the Best Actor category in 1964.
