'The Goldbergs' surprises fans with the announcement of Murray Goldberg’s ambiguous death in season 10
American sitcom TheGoldbergs opens its Season 10 with Murray Goldberg’sunexplained demise, leaving fans confused.
The Goldbergs came back with its season 10 after a much long wait when the first episode ambiguously informed the audience that the lead character Murray Goldberg was dead.
"Just a few months ago, out of nowhere, we lost my dad,” Adam Goldberg revealed, as the camera moved towards his father’s beloved Barca Lounger.
“We will always love you, Dad. Always. And we’ll find a way to continue on together. Because, after all, we’re the Goldbergs" continued Adam.
The episode moved forward as mom-to-be Erica asked Beverly to discard Murray's belongings like the hallway closet that served as a shrine to the beloved murray “Mur-man.”
“It turns out the people we say goodbye to never really leave us. But that doesn’t mean we don’t miss them,” Adam said in a voiceover toward the end of the episode.
This is going to be a family that has not reconciled the fact that their father’s gone but has sort of moved on and has dealt with a lot of that,” showrunner Alex Barnow commented.
“We’re starting with optimism about [Erica’s] baby coming and looking forward to the future. It’s an opportunity for this interesting emotional basis for the way people are behaving.” he further continued.
