Funny Girl Lea Michele reveals how motherhood has ‘grounded’ her after Glee backlash: Watch

Glee alum Lea Michele opened up on how marriage and motherhood has “grounded her and changed her “perspective in life” on Drew Barrymore’s show on Wednesday.

According to Page Six, the Broadway star was in conversation with Barrymore where she revealed that she was hyper-focused on her career and aggressive when it came to her work.

“I just couldn’t see things clearly,” said Michele on The Drew Barrymore Show.

The actress noted, “It was all about my career, you know, I had been so career-focused my entire life. I think to a fault. I think that I had just this sense of drive that created a lot of blind spots for me in my life.”

Michele revealed that she’s come a long way after the backlash she faced from her former Glee costars who accused her of “being unpleasant to work with”.

The Scream Queens actress explained that it was her relationship with husband Zandy Reich that helped “transform her life” completely.

“When I met my husband, it was a real sense of grounding for me, and then having our son and experiencing the challenges that we did throughout the pregnancy was something that, unfortunately, created a stronger bond in us that I would never wish upon anybody, but it did,” she stated.

Talking about Funny Girl, the actress added, “I’m really ready to take all of this on and do a great show every night but also have fun with my cast, come home and celebrate with my family, which is something I never did before.”
