Indian comedian Raju Srivastava passes away at the age of 58

Bollywood comedian Raju Srivastava has died at the age of 58 due to cardiac arrest, according to media reports.

Doctors at AIIMS Delhi revealed that Raju was treated for a “sepsis infection” when he suffered a cardiac arrest and breathed his last on Wednesday morning, as per Independent and NDTV.

A month ago, the comedian was brought to the hospital after he collapsed while working out at a gym.

Raju’s rep told Indian Express that all of his family members were present at the hospital at the time of his demise.

Following this news, tributes began pouring in from celebs, friends and fans from all across the world.

Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan wrote on Twitter, “Forever in our hearts. Rest in peace Raju Srivastava Sir. My condolences to the family.”

Varun Dhawan turned to Instagram and shared a photo of his while paid homage to the artist.

Other celebs like Ajay Devgan, Akshay Kumar and Malaika Arora also mourned the loss of the comedian.

For the unversed, Raju began his stand-up comedy career in the talent show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. Later, he won the title of The King of Comedy in the spin-off. He was known for his witty one-liners and parodies.

The late comedian is survived by his wife Shikha and two children.
