Stranger Things loses it's no. 1 spot on Netflix to Resident Evil

Resident Evil topples Stranger Things as No. 1 show on Netflix

Netflix’s Stranger Things resigned its title of being the most popular show on the streaming platform to a newcomer, Resident Evil.

After sitting on the top spot for several weeks straight following the release of Volume 2 of the anticipated fourth season on July 1, a live-action adaptation of a video game series, Resident Evil has dismantled the series.

The third live-action adaptation of the game of the same name, Netflix’s Resident Evil follows the chronicles in the year 20136, 14 years after a deadly virus caused a global apocalypse as the sole survivor Jade Wesker struggles to survive in a world overrun by the blood-thirsty infected and insane creatures.

The eight-episode first season stars Lance Reddick, Albert Wesker, Ella Balinska, Adeline Rudolp, Tamara Smart, Siena Agudong, and Paola Núñez.

The series has not only taken over the No.1 spot on the US streaming site; according to Flixpatrol data, Resident Evil has successfully defeated Stranger Things on the global charts as well.
