Britney Spears' ex-husband Jason Alexander pleads for not guilty
A stalking felony and other accusations against Britney Spears' ex-husband are being tried in court. He is accused of breaking into the singer's house just hours before her wedding to Sam Asghari.
According to the Associated Press, Ventura County Judge David R. Worley determined after a two-hour preliminary hearing on Monday that there is sufficient evidence against Jason Alexander to proceed to trial.
In accordance his booking record with the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, Alexander, 40, has also been charged with misdemeanor charges of trespassing and refusing to leave private property, vandalism, and battery in addition to the felony stalking. $100,000 has been set as his bail.
According to court documents, he has pled not guilty to all of the accusations.
Alexander is required to keep at least 100 yards away from Spears, 40, in accordance with a three-year restraining order against him.
In the hearing, the bodyguardRichard N. Eubeler also testified against Alexander.
"He started reaching into his right pocket, I drew my weapon and held it to my chest", Eubeler alleged of Alexander.
