Queen Elizabeth met with Lilibet Diana but for a brief moment
Queen Elizabeth II reportedly marked her first-ever meeting with Prince Harry’s daughter Lilibet Diana which was rather brief.
Lilibet landed in the UK along with her parents and sibling for the Queen’s platinum jubilee celebrations, this June.
The 96-year-old monarch always heartily waited to reunite with Lilibet and when the Queen eventually got the chance it was not as satisfying as she would have wanted it to be.
While fans assumed it had something to do with the rift between the family, there was actually some other reason.
As per US Weekly’s royal expert, Jonathan Sacerdoti it was reported, "The Queen kept her meeting brief since she was working very hard to maintain her strength."
"I think it’s totally understandable that she was saving her energy as best she could for all the events that she wanted to be at if she possibly could," added the insider.
Harry and Meghan Markle’s adorable Lilibet turned 1 on June 4 and ringed in their daughter’s first birthday in Frogmore cottage where they resided during the festivities and also released a new portrait for her.
