Drew Barrymore tears up going back to memory lane to painful past
Actress Drew Barrymore recently recalled her troubled past while paying a visit to a mental institution where she was once placed at the age of 13.
Barrymore travelled around Los Angeles and looked back on the traumatic memories that took control of her mind as she drew up near the Van Nuys Psychiatric hospital.
On the latest episode of her talk show The Drew Barrymore Show, she said, “I was a real wild child and I just got so out of control that no one knew what to do with me. They drove me here in the middle of the night and they walked me through those two doors and when you go through those two doors you do not come out. And I was there for a year and a half.”
In a chat with Female First UK, she added, "I have all sort of wonderful baggage that I would never let go of or have it any other way, because I wouldn't be exactly who I am at this moment in time without those experiences."
Drew stayed in the mental institution for a period of 18 months.
