"None of my friends would've pegged me as a farm person, but I'm as farm as it gets at this point," Kelis shared

Kelis opened up about the upbringing of her third newborn child.

The Grammy-nominated singer Kelis welcomed her newborn last September with her husband Mike Mora. She packed her bags and moved to a farm with her family to raise her 8-month-old daughter.

Kelis has two more kids— a 5-year-old son, Shepherd with husband Mike Mora, and an 11-year-old son Knight, whom she shares with ex-husband Nas. Things have been drastically different with her third child, and Kelis opened up about it during a conversation with Harper’s Bazaar.

"After I had the baby - I'm 41. It wasn't the easiest," Kelis admitted. "It wasn't like when I gave birth to my older son when I was 29."

The Milkshake hitmaker also revealed her tricks to be stronger and said that she is focusing on her nutrition intake to “build” herself back up again.

"Looking at how I was going to build myself back up, the first thing I started doing was the food, and I was able to get myself back to a place where I felt physically strong again," she explained.

To spend more quality family time, Kelis moved to a farm in Temecula, California with her family when the pandemic started to spread last year. She shared that while being out of the city was scary at first, but "you become farm people quickly."

"None of my friends would've pegged me as a farm person, but I'm as farm as it gets at this point," she shared.

Apart from raising her newborn daughter, Kelis has also been focusing on building an outdoor kitchen, gardening, and taking care of more than 30 animals on her farm.
