The 35-year-old actress was asked to choose between having a third baby or making the third Mamma Mia movie on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Friday. It didn’t take more than half a second for Amanda to reply to that question.
"Definitely third Mamma Mia!, definitely no third child," she jokingly told the host."If it was up to me, yes, of course, there would be eight Mamma Mia!s."
"Do you know how much fun that is?" she added.
Amanda confided in Colbert that she would happily take him and Wolverine’s hunk Hugh Jackman in her dream cast for the third film.
Mamma Mia’s producer Judy Craymer has revealed in the past that the “movie is meant to be a trilogy” but Amanda is not convinced that there is enough ABBA material left to make this happen.
"Listen, every single person in that movie would say yes in a heartbeat because we want to hang out with each other,” she relayed. “That’s what we talked about last time, like did we ever think that we’d end up here again on an Island in Croatia?”
“So yeah, I wish there was a 'Mamma Mia 3', but I’ll tell you what – I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again and I hope I’m wrong again. I don’t think there are enough ABBA songs to make a third movie. Because we’d have to use ‘Super Trooper’ again and we’d have to use ‘Mamma Mia’ again and have to use them in a different way.”
The Mank starlet recently had a son Thomas Jr. in September. She also shares a 4-year-old daughter Nina with her husband Thomas Sadoski. The mother of two told Colbert that she hasn’t had any sleep in two months and right about now, she misses all the fun she had on the iconic island in Croatia.
