Rivkah Reyes speaks on bullying after success in 'School of Rock'

Rivkah Reyes, popularly known for her role as Katie in School of Rock opened up about the hardships that come with early success.

Speaking to the New York Post in a recent interview. Reyes revealed that she was bullied to a point where she hoped to land a bigger role so "they'll stop calling you Katie."

“Especially after production wrapped, when I first came back to school, people were really nice or really mean. There was no middle ground,” she said.

“I was literally followed around the school with people chanting ‘School of Rock.’ ”

According to Reyes, her stardom led to a lot of bullying in her school and she became “a raging addict” to drugs from the age of 14 to 24.

"I spent over a decade terrified that I’d peaked at 10 years old,” she says.

Now when she looks back on her career as a child star, she never regrets the affection and appreciation she got for playing 'Katie' in the show.

“It was nothing but love and support,” Reyes said of the experience. “I have never lost gratitude for that, or wish that I wasn’t part of it.”
