Queen Elizabeth II says COVID-19 vaccine didn’t hurt at all

The British monarch Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Phillip have received the first dose of the COVID vaccine in January.

Earlier this week, while coordinating with the national health officials across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland on a video call, she lauded the National Health Service (NHS) led vaccination program in the U.K.

During her call, she has urged people to get a shot when they are offered one, saying hers 'didn't hurt at all'. Talking about her experience of taking the jab, she said, "Well, as far as I can make out it was quite harmless."

The Queen also added, "It was very quick, and I've had lots of letters from people who've been very surprised by how easy it was to get the vaccine."

"It didn't hurt at all," the Queen said, adding that she has since felt "protected". The Prince of Wales Charles and Duchess of Cornwall have also received their first doses of the vaccine, with Camilla saying she "leapt for joy" after getting her jab.
