Idris Elba confirms a movie spin-off of ‘Luther’ this year

British actor Idris Elba has recently confirmed for a movie spin-off of Luther. The critically acclaimed crime drama series Luther has five seasons aired on BBC.

Elba has revealed that fans will get to see DCI John Luther in a movie now. He revealed the news during his appearance in The All-New Capital Weekender radio show on Friday. Elba, 48, revealed that Luther movie will hit the floors this year.

He said, “Definitely making more music, people that love my film and stuff, listen, I’m going to be making ‘Luther: The Movie’.”

“I’m super excited and I hope the fans are sort of excited for that. It’s been a long time coming for a movie, for people that have loved the show. We’ve been making the show for 10 years, so we’re making a film,” he added.

The news came as excitement for fans as they were upset to know that there will no season six of their favorite police drama. Luther movie is said to be one of the most anticipated movies of the year.
